Boomtown and the eight town themes

Eight named town themes share the game's generated-map progression and Boomtown goals. Their Boomtown achievements range from 5.0% to 5.9% in the dated public list below.

What every town shares

The store says each valley town grows its own economy, with 3 to 8 regions plus an endless Boomtown. Later you can buy bridges, bypasses and shortcuts. Patch 1.1 adds a distinct riverbank style per town type. The New Game panel is where Size, Granularity, River (None, One or Confluence), River size and Goals are set before the town exists.

A full-map screenshot shows the playable valley inside a cloud edge, with quarry, forest and rail. Another labels a town Rebenstein and a profit of +$3,115 per minute. I treat Rebenstein as one generated name, not as a fixed campaign map.

Boomtown levels, from the achievement list

Boomtown 1 through 5 sit at 23.2%, 17.7%, 13.0%, 10.3% and 7.1%. The Long Haul, all eight regions, is 1.9%. A Boomtown 1 panel shows six goods goals, the line “Meet every goal at once for 60 s,” and a best level of 0. On that same road tool, New bridge is $350,000 and Bypass is $180,000.

Theme rates, same list, 4 Nov 2026: Coalfield 5.0%, Heath 5.1%, Riviera 5.2%, Hanse 5.2%, Alpine 5.6%, Spa 5.5%, Fjord 5.7%, Wine valley 5.9%. The spread is under one point. I read that as “people who reach a themed Boomtown are rare,” not as “Wine valley is easier.”

Why the terrain column is empty

No store paragraph, patch note or screenshot caption assigns a terrain, an opening problem or a recommended start to a named theme. A river appears in several screenshots, and patch 1.1 says riverbanks differ, but it does not say which theme has which bank. Guessing from the English name would put false geography on the page, so the cells stay blank.

Questions

How many regions are in a town?

The store says 3 to 8, then an endless Boomtown. A single seed's count is on the New Game preview, such as 9 factories and 8 sources on one screenshot.

What is the 60 second rule?

The Boomtown 1 panel says meet every goal at once for 60 seconds. I do not have the text of levels 2 through 5.

Are the eight themes different to play?

They have different achievement names and, since patch 1.1, different riverbank art. Gameplay differences are not written down. I leave them blank.
